Education & Experience
Attorney Dougherty earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. She was also part of the Equestrian team, President’s List, and Mortar Board Honor Society.
Mrs. Dougherty graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Prior to law school, she was a Special Education teacher for children with emotional and behavioral disorders in Georgia, as well as a teacher in Memphis area private schools. She was also a certified classical education teacher and part of the George Washington Teacher Fellowship Program at Mount Vernon, VA.
Attorney Dougherty is a former appellate law clerk for the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. She then became a lawyer for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services and practiced immigration law in a private firm in Memphis. She was also a public interest attorney under the Victims of Other Crime’s Act (VOCA) Grant, advocating for the rights of domestic violence victims.
Before joining Huffman Mason, Mrs. Dougherty started her own family law boutique firm in Somerville, TN, in 2021. She brings her experience as an educator, children and domestic violence advocate, and legal professional to each case she handles.
